KLASHING HEARTS

Klashing Hearts is a hip-hop band consisting of four members; Jordan Isaacs, Jorge Contreras, Jesus Contreras, and Alexander Castelo. The band’s music was founded in Hip-Hop but features live instruments with emerging elements and hints of Indie Rock , Pop Punk and R&B creating a singular sound. South Florida’s Klashing Hearts have different appeal than any other hip-hop act usually doing shows with Indie Rock and Pop-Punk bands. The band says they can fit comfortably with any crowd. Their lyrics range from personal trials & tribulations, life experiences, partying and girls to uplifting & inspirational. Klashing Hearts’ roots date to 2005 in the small city of Pembroke Pines, FL.
Music has been and always will be apart of each of their lives from early childhood. Members Jordan and Jorge first started collaborating in middle school. They would find beats and music online and make up raps for fun. They knew they had something special when their families, neighbors, and classmates listened to their tracks and liked what they heard. Soon they started trying to put together an act, and included Jorge’s younger brother Jesus in their music-making sessions. When it became clear that they should start recording their music professionally, the trio – the oldest in ninth grade – would do odd jobs around their neighborhood for funds. They did car washes, landscaping work, and even went door-to-door caroling to raise money to create a professional demo.
In an effort to round out the band and add more members, Jordan and the Contreras brothers tried out many different combinations of people. While talent was important, it was more vital to the trio to find a member whose personality and stage presence not only fit in with the group but also brought something new. It wasn’t until Jorge and Jesus’s mother introduced them to Alex that they knew their group was complete. Through his interactions with Jorge and Jesus, Alex began teaching himself how to play the keyboard. Since all of the other members of Klashing Hearts were self-taught, Alex soon fit right in.
